With all the discounting that has been going on, will consumers have the heart to keep shopping when all of the discount dust has settled. Barneys' shoes were discounted upwards of 80% during February with patent navy flats by Lanvin at $199, and suede calf bootees by Marc Jacobs at $157. Good luck convincing some of these consumers to pay full price once the economy stabilizes.
