Chanel has been a fashion staple ever since Coco Chanel made her first piece and she has managed to capture the hearts of many including Keira Knightley who has just shot her second campaign in Paris for the Coco Mademoiselle. The actress was quoted saying "I want that one and that one and that one," after attending a Chanel couture show. Not only has Keira expressed her love for things Chanel, but also, Anna Mouglalis, who plays Coco Chanel in the Jan Kounen-directed biopic and has grown to love the character of Coco Chanel. Singer Marianne Faithfull also shows love as she is to don some Chanel pieces for her upcoming tour for her new album which start in March in the U.S.

Film production has begun in France for Coco Avant Chanel, a biopic of the iconic French fashion designer played by Audrey Tautou and directed by Anne Fontaine. Roadshow Films and Warner Bros have released the image that i posted from the production, which is being filmed in the Paris and Normandy regions. It will follow her early years as a self-taught designer, who rose from humble beginnings to the top of the international fashion ladder.

"Any woman who wants to invent a destiny for herself can identify with the early years of Coco Chanel, a young uneducated woman who dreams of entering the world while exacerbating her differences and ignoring everything of the extraordinary destiny awaiting her," Tautou said in a statement.

Look out for the film in Australia around Autumn of 2009.

Another movie about Coco Chanel is in pre-production. Anna Mouglalis will play the late designer in "Chanel et Stravinsky, l'Histoire Secrete," translates to "The Secret Story of Chanel and Stravinsky," centered on her love affair with Igor Stravinsky.

Jan Kounen will direct, and "Casino Royale" Mads Mikkelsen will play the role of Stravinsky, WWD reports. Chanel will be opening its archive doors to the film's unnamed costumer, who will also be meeting with designer Karl Lagerfeld over the coming weeks.
